I have created this as part of my final assignment as a complimentary task.

I have not designed this tutorial for the average illustrator user. You need to know how to use the pen tool and other basic features of illustrator.

All u need to know to making a vector is in here, however I cannot guarantee a perfect vector, as practise makes perfect.

Please let me know if you find bugs and spelling/grammatical errors as I have awhile before I have to submit it.

Please let me know if you follow it or if it helps as it will make the time I spent on it worth while.

Tutorial i created on vectoring vehicles: [link]

Thanks guys

So I've got an impertinent question... I've never really tried any "realistic" vector work, everything I've done (which isn't much) is all cartoon style. Do you always trace the figure to get started, or did you just do that for this tutorial, because it's an intro to realistic human vectors? I know tracing is considered practically evil to all artists worth their salt, so I wondered if this was an "exception to the rule." Thanks for this tutorial, and thanks in advance for your clarification of this point.

This was extremely helpful thank you. I finally get the whole pasteurizer and contrast thing that a lot of tutorials have but don't explain that you have to edit the levels.

I can't even being to tell you how helpful this way. I'm just starting to work with vector as a more powerful illustration tool and my teachers are very bad at explaining. "Just use the pen tool" doesn't quite cut it. I found this halfway through my project and ended up completely redoing it because now I understand! My piece is looking much nicer and I am so, so grateful to you.

So thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!

Art is long, and Time is fleeting,
And our hearts, though stout and brave,
Still, like muffled drums, are beating
Funeral marches to the grave.
